The inspiration behind this piece of art comes from my Caribbean roots, where I lived for most of my adult life before coming to Canada. As you would know, the Caribbean represents a people of colour, vibrancy, warmth, expression and happiness. The piece was created to reflect these attributes of our people and create intrigue through the interlocking, interception and integration of different shapes and colours. Around The Block seeks to capture the moods of a people so diverse yet so connected.
